In 2008, Lewis illustrated a “comic book press kit” for The Mountain Goats’ album Heretic Pride. Both are now a part of Tallahassee Turns Ten. Jeffrey Lewis will be covering “See America Right” and Andrew Jackson Jihad will tackle “Alpha Rats Nest”.  Anyone else excited about this? If you haven’t already, you can back the kickstarter here. Jeffrey Lewis doing “See America Right” will get my donation dollars.  I’m really excited.  if anyone wants to form a temporary band (or permanent band, if we totally click and end up being capable of contributing something incredible to the art world) specifically for the purpose of covering a song from Tallahassee, i will sing vocals on any song on that beautiful fucking album. (my voice is pretty ok i promise but more importantly i love john darnielle’s music so much that it seeps through my vocal cords) the bottom line is, maybe someone who also lives in the boston area will see this and want to record mountain goats songs for fun and submit them to this wonderful celebration of one of my Top 5 Albums I’ve Ever Loved In Life Ever Of All Time. need i remind you that i first got on tumblr to post a photo each day under the username (drumroll plz) http://tallahassee.tumblr.com (it totally still exists, in its original form! sometimes i get intoxicated and look back at it; that fucking DAILY documentation of my freshman year of college/the best relationship i ever had, and i feel really embarrassing feelings!) and, like, i probably wouldn’t have gotten through late high school/early college without the mountain goats, specifically “tallahassee”. hi, i'm mary-kate. i initially got on tumblr as a wide-eyed freshman to post sunny photos i took in my everyday life, but now i'm still here on this website at 22, reblogging memes and using phrases like "reblogging memes". the internet is fucking weird, and we love it, don't we? oh, yes we do.

about me? i'm a slacker in college--excuse me, i mean senior in college--and waitress extraordinaire*. i like most people, so that means i probably like you, statistically speaking. i am a communication studies major at emerson college who would rather mediate conflicts than publicize relations. i think that it's not about the destination, but the journey. that's why i expand my brain with the Metro crossword during my daily public transportation endeavors. i almost always thank the bus driver when i get off the bus, but never thank the T conductor. i mean, he doesn't even have to steer the thing.
